Save Money By Cost-Sharing Your Next Interiors Photo Shoot

Interiors photography offers both advantages and challenges when it comes to photographing privately owned spaces. The homeowner may be happy and willing to have their home photographed,  but at the same time, they may not want a constant stream of photographers entering their property. That’s when a cost-sharing arrangement makes things easier (and cheaper) for everyone involved:  one photographer is hired to photograph a space and distribute images to all parties involved. The commissioning party, often an interior designer or developer, will ask other interested contractors if they would like to participate. Typically, the original client can bring on 2-3 additional parties to purchase photographs.

How does it work?

A photographer’s fee typically includes a creative portion that covers our time creating the images during the photo shoot + the license we give our client to use the images. When more than one party is involved in the contract, we need to add additional licenses to the fee. Then the final amount gets split into equal parts for everyone involved. This results in significant cost-savings for everyone, with the advantage of only disturbing the homeowner once to photograph the space.

If you’re interested in more information about cost-sharing arrangements please send me a note.
